In my first contacts with Aspademis, I encountered a disorder that made me confront contradictory feelings.

On one hand, I saw cases that captivated me in a very tender way, while at the same time I felt a certain emptiness from not receiving enough feedback on the work I was doing. Even so, without knowing why, I felt that we could achieve something important.

At first you get the feeling that your work is falling on deaf ears, that everything becomes very repetitive, that your work is not important, that they may not be receiving the love that you are feeling inside… However, suddenly a very important turning point occurs.
A kind of explosion in which you begin to realize that all that persistence has not been in vain, that all the work done beats within that programming or reprogramming (as I vulgarly call it) in which we work together with children with this type of disorder.

It's a wonderful and beautiful job at the same time. You know you're on the right track when you start to realize how you help them regulate those emotions that sometimes overwhelm them, how you contribute to their understanding of the meanings of the things around them, attending to their requests, giving importance to the smallest detail that exists around them and that has meaning for them.

The simple act of a touch, a glance, an approach, or someone asking for your help... generates such a powerful feeling that it makes you see clearly.
Because you're there, and then everything makes sense. It's very rewarding to feel how the work done begins to transform into something incredibly special.

Autism research is inconclusive; from my perspective, it's even poorly supported. There's such a vast void, yet at the same time, so much knowledge, that working closely with them is truly fascinating.
These are cases where you are filled with love just by looking at them; when you dive in with them, you discover their great inner world…

Autism is a disorder with a wide spectrum on many levels, with many manifestations, but they all have something in common: they are able to transform the smallest thing into the greatest thing and fill the hearts of those around them.
